<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The Business Development Specialist is engaged in prospecting, qualifying, disqualifying, and presenting gas and related supplies solutions to manufacturers, mechanical contractors, fabricators, and other industrial companies within the greater Hudson Valley and Southern NY markets.  This usually consists of uncovering needs with buyers, shop foremen, project engineers, program managers and business owners.  The focus is on identifying areas where Noble’s superior technical expertise, service, and agility as a local distributor can improve a customers’ application and use of gases and related products to find the solutions that work best for them.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The successful Business Development Specialist will have a history of finding and closing new business with sales cycles of 3-12 months which average $25,000 in annual revenue, and will increase gross profit in this segment by at least 25% year-over-year versus 2011.</p>

<h2><strong>KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS</strong></h2>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The best Business Development Specialists are good at dealing with rejection and are able to manage their time, which is evident by their daily activities.  They are able to effectively question and uncover customer needs.  They are able to walk away from unqualified prospects and move on to real opportunities.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Successful Business Development Specialists are able to apply their knowledge of the customer’s industry and the use of gases, welding supplies and related products to provide solutions to customers’ problems.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">When they present their solution, they focus on the customer pain or problem and not the features and benefits of the product.  They have great personal presence and the discipline to follow a repeatable process with a history of consistent and reliable pipelines.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Customers freely share their satisfaction with the level of support and follow-through they received from the successful candidate.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The Business Development Specialist is comfortable selling to a variety of levels within an organization, from the shop floor to the corner office, and has a strong desire to earn more than $100,000 through a performance-based situation.  They have a history of exceeding quotas and achieving bonuses.</p>

<h2>DESCRIPTIONS OF JOB FUNCTIONS</h2>
<ul>
<li>The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for developing a prospecting/sales plan that will result in achieving their first year goals and the development of a targeted pipeline for 2012 business worth $500,000.  A suitable prospecting plan would typically include and follow-up in the form of cold and warm phone calls and walk-ins, email, mailings, bid/proposal responses, and referrals.</li>
<li>Prospect for industrial gases and related products opportunities in manufacturing, fabrication, contracting and other related industries.</li>
<li>Understand what a good fit customer looks like, what the capabilities, uses, and applications are of industrial gases and supplies, and manage customer expectations to them.</li>
<li>Cold call prospective clients and set discovery appointments.</li>
<li>Get past gatekeepers and build relationships with key decision makers.</li>
<li>Pre-qualify prospects according to customer’s pain, budget, and decision-making process.</li>
<li>Present solutions to qualified prospects and customers.</li>
<li>Manage the sales process from prospecting through close, with a clear understanding of where they are in the process and a clear next step.</li>
<li>The company utilizes a team approach to customer service and the Business Development Specialist will need to identify and enlist the help of their peers to successfully serve the customer and close the opportunity.</li>
<li>Build weekly/quarterly activity plans, maintain, and document all sales activities in CRM software and maintain an accurate and up-to-date pipeline of opportunities.</li>
<li>Prepare for and participate in weekly and quarterly sales team meetings.</li>
<li>Be able to communicate effectively both formally and informally amongst team, prospective customers, and customers.</li>
<li>Consistently meets productivity metrics mutually agreed upon with management.</li>
<li>Travel throughout the designated territory by car, manage time and territory.</li>

<p>The accreditation for Noble Gas Solutions is significant. This accreditation will now be accepted worldwide as it symbolizes Noble Gas Solutions capability to competently produce reliable and accurate results through the adherence of international standards and criteria. It uniquely positions the company to target biotech and high tech companies, seek prospects which are already ISO/IEC 17025:2005or ISO 9000 (making qualification easier), as well as provide customers with an additional level of assurance that non-accredited labs are not able to offer.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This August, President/CEO of Noble Gas Solutions, Dave Mahoney, was the largest fundraiser of all of the “Jailbirds” at the MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) Lock-Up event at Taste, high atop the city of Albany.  Dave raised $3,200; $780 of which came directly from Noble Gas employees and their families.  The balance came from friends and other businesses associates of Noble. Dave&#8217;s fundraising efforts will send 4 children with Muscular Dystrophy to camp in the Adirondacks.  (It costs $800 per child per week.)  This week long camp is a positive life-altering experience for children and volunteer counselors<br />
alike!  The money Dave raised will also be used for research for the 43 neuromuscular diseases covered by the MDA organization, health care services, education and family support for those whose loved ones are impacted.</p>
<p>Noble employees were encouraged to raise money for this great cause by holding two &#8220;Dress Down for Dollars&#8221; days implemented by our Director of Human Resources, Deb Misenhimer.  Noble offered employees opportunities to wear shorts or jeans in exchange for a $5.00 donation to MDA.  Employees enjoyed the experience and it helped raise money for a great cause.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On Sunday, May 21st Noble Gas Solutions was one of many proud sponsors for the &#8220;Sean&#8217;s Run 2011&#8243;.  ﻿﻿﻿﻿﻿The Sean&#8217;s run foundation was ﻿﻿created in ﻿﻿﻿﻿response to the tragic death of Sean Patrick French, the 17 year old Chatham High School junior who lost his life on January 1, 2002 as a passenger in a drunk driving car accident. </p>
<p>This tragedy prompted the enactment of &#8220;Sean&#8217;s Law&#8221; on January 1, 2003 that requires suspension of a license upon first arrest of a 16 or 17 year old on drunk driving charges.  The race both helps raise awareness and raise funds for the Sean Patrick French Scholoarship fund.<a rel="attachment wp-att-436447" href="http://www.noblegassolutions.com/noble-news/noble-supports-seans-run-2011/attachment/seans-run-2/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-436447" title="Seans Run" src="http://www.noblegassolutions.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Seans-Run1.jpg" alt="" width="821" height="800" /></a></p>

<p>These funds will help provide services to sexual assault victims/survivors and their families that may include: counseling, support groups, therapy, legal advocacy, forensic exams, referrals, assistance with compensation claims, and more.</p>

<li>one woman is raped and/or physically assaulted every three minutes in the U.S.?</li>
<li>as many as 1 out of 4 children will be sexually molested before the age of 18, and in 90% of these cases the victim knows the assailant(s)?</li>
<li>battering is the major cause of injury to women, resulting in more injuries than auto accidents, muggings, and rapes <em>combined</em>?</li>
<li>for every reported incident, approximately 14 go unreported?</li>

<p>Albany, N.Y. — Today, AWESCO, one of the leading gas and welding equipment distributors in the United States, is proud to announce the launch of their new name, Noble Gas Solutions. The launch was held this morning at Noble Gas Solutions headquarters on 20 Center Street in Albany.</p>
<p>“It was important for the name and new logo design to better reflect our services,” said J. David Mahoney, president and CEO of Noble Gas Solutions. “Our commitment to our customers and the communities in which we operate remains the same, as does our vision of being an innovatively driven, ever-evolving company.”</p>
<p>Mahoney spoke this morning about Noble Gas Solutions’ new look and feel and how the brand reflects the sophistication and capabilities the company offers. Dignitaries present at the brand launch included Mayor Gerald D. Jennings; Albany County Executive, Michael Breslin; Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce President &amp; CEO, Mark Eagan; and Director of Business Development at the Center for Economic Growth (CEG), Louise Aitcheson.</p>
<p>“AWESCO has built deep roots in the community and I am proud to be part of this celebration. Not only does the new name and logo design signify a new chapter for this Albany business, but also it furthers the company’s commitment to our area,” said Mayor Jennings.</p>
<p>“Dave Mahoney and his team have a strong track record for quality products and outstanding customer service. Their new name better represents their core business and will better position them for continued growth,” said Chamber president Mark Eagan.</p>
