The Mahoney family dog, Bubba, is also Noble Gas Solutions’ official mascot. Bubba is certified as a Canine Good Citizen® through the American Kennel Club®, and has aspirations of becoming a Certified Therapy Dog so he can soon help others in the community.

Giving Back

J. David Mahoney, President/CEO at Noble Gas Solutions, sets the tone for the company’s philanthropy and belief that giving back to the community is not only important, it’s necessary. After all, without the support of the people who run the companies that do business with Noble Gas Solutions, and their communities, Noble would not be where they are today.

In the Community

Between 2005 and 2008 Dave personally raised nearly $300,000 to build a baseball field for the East Greenbush Miracle League, which services handicapped children. In 2009, he was the proud recipient of the Jefferson Award for Community Service*. He was also named Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Man of the Year” in 2010 when he raised more than $53,000 in just five weeks in honor of a friend battling blood cancer.

Additionally, with an idea sparked from Dave’s wife, Donna, he used his considerable talents at charitable fundraising and founded the Gases and Welding Distributors Association GAWDA Gives Back program when he was President of the organization in 2000. Now in its 11th year, GAWDA Gives Back has raised nearly one million dollars for various charitable organizations. Its premise is simple: each year during its Annual Convention, GAWDA members donate funds for a selected charity in the event’s host city. In 2010, the GAWDA Gives Back recipient was Hawaii’s Community Closet organization, which received more than $200,000.

*The Jefferson Awards are a prestigious national recognition system honoring community and public service in America. The Jefferson Awards began in 1972 to create a Nobel Prize for public service. From the beginning, the Jefferson Awards has been based on a simple idea: One person can make a difference. The mission of the Jefferson Awards is to encourage and honor individuals for their achievements and contributions through public and community service. Today, their primary purpose is to serve as a “Call to Action for Volunteers” in local communities, and to recognize, inspire and activate volunteerism and public service in communities, workplaces and schools across America.

The Noble Difference

Noble Gas Solutions’ employees are also committed to the community in which they live and work by supporting various organizations. This includes donating blood, being involved in a church or school group, or by volunteering in the community. Organizations such as the Ronald McDonald House, St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, the American Heart Association, etc. continue to experience the Noble Difference by having Noble employees volunteer their time and efforts into aiding their organizations.

We feel giving back to the community is the right thing to do; it’s the Noble difference.
